Obituary: Vincent DaGrosa, 91, of Southbury

February 14, 2018 at The Lutheran Home of Southbury. He was the husband of Dorothy M.( Matulaitis) DaGrosa, whom he married May 27, 1950. Vincent was born 10/17/1926 in Freeland Pa., the son of Anthony and Florence DaGrosa.Vincent graduated from Temple University High School, Philadelphia, Pa. and Central Technical Institute in Kansas City,Mo. He attended the University of Delaware and retired from Hipotronics, Inc. in 1988. Vincent was a life member of IEEE. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II from 1944 to 1947 on the USS Gearing DD-710 and was a plank owner. He was a past Commander of the American Legion Heritage Village Memorial post 204 and was instrumental in creating Southbury,Ct. CERT Team. Vincent was also a Past President of Heritage Village Radio - Electronics Club.He was loved and he touched so many in his 91 years. His family will shed many tears but also raise many cheers for a life well lived and honored well past his 91 years. Vincent is survived by his wife Dorothy, son Vincent DaGrosa and wife Deborah of Edison, NJ., Christopher DaGrosa of Dobbs Ferry,NY and daughter Dorothy and Husband Michael Pierce of Southbury, CT., brother Anthony Paul DaGrosa and wife Janet of Marlton, NJ and four grandchildren, Michelle DaGrosa Lindner of Freehold, NJ., Valerie DaGrosa Wille and husband Paul of Jackson,NJ., Rebecca and Michael Pierce of Southbury, Ct., four great grandchildren, Aidan and Connor Lindner, Olivia and Gianna Wille and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Florence Engelke of GA., and Nancy Denelsbeck of Cinnaminson, NJ.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Friends of Fisher House Ct. PO Box 575 ?
